About Saint Joseph’s, Derby

S. Joseph's Catholic parish was originally established in 1876 under Mgr. McKenna, long before the south of Derby was well-populated, and the church was served by priests coming from the city church at S. Mary's, Bridge gate. The present building was finished in 1985 and designed to complement the primary school facility on the hill and off the Mill Hill lane. This church and parish is part of the Catholic Diocese of Nottingham, currently led by its tenth bishop, the Right Reverend Monsignor Patrick McKinney.
