One of our parishioners, C. Merry, recently sent me links to blogs that she has set up and I thought that I should add them to our blog-roll, which is visible to the bottom-right of the main page of the website. I will link them here first:
- First, here is a set of articles about Christ’s relatives, ancestors and disciples, along with other Christian or Bible themed articles as well. I have been fascinated to discover not only that several Gospel characters (such as the Apostle S. John, his brother S. James, together with S. Jude and the other S. James, as well as one or two of the ladies at the crucifixion, etc.) were members of the extended family of the Blessed Virgin Mary, but also that the first bishops of Jerusalem, notably James and Simeon, were blood relatives of Christ.
- Secondly, here is a blog about the principles of Creation, with meditations on Life as created to evolve, with original ideas on the origin of life on earth and its adaptation to changing conditions, all this based on belief in the Creator rooted in the Bible and a new understanding of the natural processes of evolution. It is a fascinating experience to join our understanding of Creation as we learn about it from the natural sciences to our understanding of it as given us by the sacred literature of Scripture.
