Our children are our most important asset and we are very fortunate in having first class schools and catechists in our parish – all of which helps in building a caring, warm and welcoming community for all.
Children in church…
are always welcome. If, as a parent, you feel a little awkward because your child is more than usually noisy or restless you are most welcome, if you prefer, to go into the Parish Centre (use the door between church and parish centre in the English Martyrs Chapel). Please feel free to do whatever suits you and your child at any time.
If you need to breastfeed your baby you are welcome to do so.
will be resuming on Sunday, 29th September at the 10.15am Mass. All young people of primary school age are welcome to attend this in the Parish Centre from the beginning of Mass to the time of the Offertory. Younger children are also welcome if accompanied by a carer. The Childens’ Liturgy will begin with meeting every two weeks but this may change in the months ahead as we get used to its renewal after a long absence. If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to see Fr John or Lorraine Stack who is very kindly organising it.

At St Joseph’s RC Pre-School, our goal is to produce happy, motivated, well-adjusted children. Here you will find a caring, educational environment for children aged from 3 to 5 years. We recognise that each child has unique talents, learning styles and personality.
Each week in school term time, we are open from 8.45am – 2:45am offering both full and part days. We provide snacks and lunch if required.
If your child is eligible for free nursery funding this entitlement may be used at pre-school.

We offer full and part days between 7.30am and 5.45pm. We are open during school term times only on Monday – Friday. St. Joseph’s School strives to enable every child to reach their own potential. Whilst we are proud, and rightly so, of our academic achievements, which continue to be among the best in the City, developing the whole child is equally, if not more important. Critical to this, however, is the support we give the children as they continue their spiritual journey by helping them develop a fuller understanding of their faiths and beliefs.
You are warmly invited to come to school, to look around, meet children and staff and soak up the distinctive atmosphere of St. Joseph’s School.
The responsibility of parents to encourage children to grow in the Catholic faith is self-evident.
We are fortunate in St Joseph’s to have a school so dedicated to the well-being of the children – both humanly and academically.
