This summer, we shall once more have the opportunity of joining with the Bishop Patrick on pilgrimage to various places around the diocese and the country. This post has to do with the diocesan pilgrimage to the national Shrine of Our Lady, where we shall pray for vocations, for peace in our world, and for evangelisation.
Transport to Walsingham is to be individually organised in parishes or deaneries, and there may be more information about this in the weeks to come.
The published timetable for the day is:
- 11:00, arrivals at the Catholic Shrine
- 12:00, pilgrimage Mass celebrated by the Bishop in the Chapel of Reconciliation, followed by picnics, visits to the Slipper Chapel, and opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation
- 15.00, Holy Mile procession departs from the Catholic Shrine, making for the old village. Coach-travel will be provided for those who cannot walk the Holy Mile. The walk concludes with Benediction in the grounds of the medieval abbey.
- 17:00, departures for home
