An empty tomb

Holy Women at the tomb of Christ, Adolphe-William Bouguereau (1825-1905)

This is just a picture post. From my favourite painter of all time, Maitre Adolphe-William Bouguereau, comes this excellently composed and executed image off the three holy women who arrived at the tomb, expecting to anoint the Body of Christ for burial – they hadn’t had the time to do it to high standard on Friday evening, because the Sabbath had intruded. But, now, on Sunday morning, the tomb was empty of Christ and full of angels.
