Some of you will have noticed that we copied in this week’s newsletter a short message of thanks from Father John, our former parish priest. He has appreciated our gifts to him on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of his ordination to the sacred priesthood, which was last month, and he also wanted to note the kindness that had been shown him during his time here. He also still regrets the swiftness of his departure and in the circumstances of the beginning of the covid-19 epidemic, which was difficult for both him and our people here.
This is from a man who has repeatedly spoken of his love for the people of this parish. We shall continue to remember him in prayer here at S. Joseph, and especially in the circumstances of his retirement. We love you too, Father John, and we ask Saint Joseph to protect you always.
